Humanoid robot bubble?

If you search robot on Google, chances are most of the results will show something about a humanoid robot.

Humanoid fighter robot, humanoid factory robot, humanoid house helper to do your laundry.

I've watched the movie iRobot with Will Smith and Ex-Machina, its all cool and dandy but doesn't it seem to make robots become boring?

We have 8 billion humans on this planet, do we really need robots that look like humans?

Seems like we are obsessed with ourselves.

Don't get me wrong. I like the idea of not doing laundry ever again..but does the robot really need to resemble the shape and form of a human?

Why cant the washing machine just spit out neatly folded clothes into my closet.

Perhaps God created the perfect human design so the perfect design for a robot is something that resembles a human.

But still, there's something more compelling about a robot with wheels, or a flying drone.

Yes it looks scary and I don't promote violence. But to me, when I think of robots or robotics, this is what I envision. Much more cooler, stronger, bigger, tougher!

Not this...

There's lot more to robotics. We should expand our mind and think outside the box. An image of a humanoid robot is not what should pop up in our head when you think of robotics.

They are brainwashing you!

It should be this!

Think bigger, we have plenty of people doing humanoid robots.

And its not going to help when a Kaiju shows up.
